EBSMEDA recently convened a working session with the State Export Promotion Committee under the SABER (State Action on Business Enabling Reforms) framework. The meeting focused on launching a flagship initiative to issue free export certificates and CAC certifications to MSMEs across Ebonyi’s three senatorial zones—Abakaliki, Afikpo, and Onueke.
Representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, EBSMEDA, and the Export Committee outlined a phased rollout of sensitization campaigns targeting exporters at every stage—from registration to market entry. This initiative seeks to simplify access to international markets by removing bureaucratic hurdles, making compliance easier for small enterprises.
Commenting on the initiative, EBSMEDA’s Director General emphasized the need for a fully operational One‑Stop‑Shop portal, where businesses can seamlessly apply, upload required documents, and receive export approval and CAC certificates remotely.
This move reflects Ebonyi State’s growing commitment to boosting export growth via the SABER framework—enhancing competitiveness while strengthening small business capacity and scale.
