Technical Session & Statewide Townhall Meeting
The Ebonyi State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (EBSMEDA) is gearing up to host the SABER Technical Session and Statewide Townhall Meeting, a high-level engagement aimed at improving the ease of doing business and unlocking new growth opportunities for MSMEs in the state. This upcoming event reflects EBSMEDA’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and enabling business environment where entrepreneurs can thrive.
The SABER (Small Business Enabling Report) framework is a national reform tool designed to assess how state-level policies and regulations impact micro and small businesses. By aligning Ebonyi State’s enterprise ecosystem with SABER standards, EBSMEDA seeks to identify gaps, improve service delivery, and strengthen support systems for entrepreneurs across sectors. The technical session will involve deep-dive discussions with policy experts, regulators, and institutional stakeholders to review current business policies and propose actionable reforms.
In parallel, the Statewide Townhall Meeting will serve as an open forum for interaction between MSME operators and key government officials. Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to voice their challenges, share feedback, and highlight the realities they face in accessing finance, infrastructure, registration services, and business support. This bottom-up approach ensures that proposed reforms are informed by real-life experiences and grounded in the day-to-day needs of business owners.
Participants will include representatives from the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), local government councils, trade associations, youth-led enterprises, women business networks, and financial institutions. The event will also feature breakout sessions, interactive panels, and exhibition booths showcasing MSME innovations from across Ebonyi State.
By convening this dual-format event, EBSMEDA aims not only to meet national SABER reform benchmarks but to demonstrate Ebonyi State’s leadership in building a responsive and inclusive enterprise ecosystem. The outcome of the session will contribute to an evidence-based action plan that will inform future programs and influence policymaking at the state level.
Ultimately, the SABER Technical Session and Townhall Meeting are more than just meetings — they are platforms for co-creating the future of business in Ebonyi State. Through shared dialogue and collaborative reform, EBSMEDA continues to champion the voice of small businesses and drive impactful change for a more vibrant and resilient economy.
